  Machan, Organic Chemistry eke Nucleophilic Substitution reactions (SN1 vs SN2) understand karanne wela **Carbocation Stability** eka pradhana role ekak. Ehuma mechanism eka differ karanna help karanawa. ### 1. SN1 Reaction (Substitution Nucleophilic Unimolecular) SN1 reaction eke **Step 1** eka diana **Carbocation Intermediate** ekak create wanamawa. Ehenekara Carbocation stable one namde, SN1 reaction eka fast ekak. * **Mechanism:** 1. Leaving group eka detach වී (detach වීම) Carbocation ekak generate වේ. 2. Nucleophile eka attack කරයි. * **Carbocation Stability Order:** $$3^\circ > 2^\circ > 1^\circ > \text{Methyl}$$ * **Why?** Alkyl groups (+I effect සහ Hyperconjugation හේතුවෙන්) positive charge stabilize කරයි. * **Result:** Tertiary ($3^\circ$) alkyl halides SN1 mechanisms follow කරයි. ### 2. SN2 Reaction (Substitution Nucleophilic Bimolecular) SN2 reaction eka **Concerted Mechanism** ekak. Ehenekara Carbocation intermediate ekak **create නොවේ**. * **Focus:** Steric Hindrance (Space availability). * **Order:** Methyl $> 1^\circ > 2^\circ > 3^\circ$ (Tertiary ones SN2 perform කරන්නේ නැහැ because nucleophile attack කරන්න බැරි ඉඩක් නැති නිසා). ### Summary: Kohomada therenne? | Feature | SN1 | SN2 | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | **Key Factor** | Carbocation Stability | Steric Hindrance | | **Best Substrate** | $3^\circ$ (Tertiary) | $1^\circ$ (Primary) / Methyl | | **Rate Law** | Rate = $k[\text{Substrate}]$ | Rate = $k[\text{Substrate}][\text{Nuc}]$ | **Simple Tip:** * Substrate
